GDIT is looking for an experienced Help Desk Specialist/Scrum Master to support our customer, Centers for Medicare and Medicaid Services (CMS), in their efforts to utilize Agile development processes to maintain operations and maintenance, provide new enhancements and added functionality for all Hospital Quality Reporting (HQR) systems, specifically for the Quality Analytics and Reports task area.

In this role, a typical day will include:

  • Analyze user needs to determine functional requirements for a wide variety of projects.

  • Perform functional allocations to identify tasks and their inter-relationships.

  • Research, identify, and recommend resources required for task execution and completion.

  • Consult with clients to determine optimum design for assigned projects.

  • Develop new systems or updates existing systems to meet client needs.

  • Identify emerging relevant technologies that may result in improvements to current processes and systems.

  • Write and update project documentation including system procedures, presentations, and training materials.

  • Conduct functional testing of various systems.

  • Provide guidance and work leadership to less-experienced analysts.

  • Maintain current knowledge of relevant technologies and subject areas.

  • Participate in special projects as required.

  • Support and adheres to data and analytic processes, operational procedures, and security standards.

  • Participate in the overall data request process including initiation, triage, documentation, and configuration management of requests.

  • Assist with writing and formatting technical documentation and project documentation.

  • Assist the analytic team with quality assurance testing on documentation, identifying issues and recommending changes if needed.

  • Assist with the preparation of training materials and performs training for staff and customers.

  • Design, analyze, interpret and develop data and analytic documentation, requirements, and specifications.

  • Subject matter expert on systems used for tracking data requests and proposes enhancements as necessary.

  • Communicates effectively using both strong writing and verbal skills.

  • Monitoring timeliness of data requests, updating data files/elements, changes to data processing methods, and assessing the impact of changes on existing methods.

  • Serves as resource for internal and external customers and liaison between technical and non-technical staff


  • Bachelor’s Degree in a related technical discipline, or the equivalent combination of education, professional training, or work experience.

  • 5+ years of related experience.

  • Experience leading teams.

  • Experience working in an Agile environment highly preferred.

  • Comprehensive knowledge of the principles, methods, techniques, work processes, and applicable regulations in assigned subject-matter area(s).

  • Experience and proficiency with Microsoft Office software (Office, Excel, Project and Visio for the production of diagrams and flows required).

  • Experience with ServiceNow


  • Scrum Master certification.

  • Experience working with health services data for quality improvement, reporting or analytic purposes

  • Experience with Section 508 Compliance Standards

  • Experience with Adobe Professional Software

  • Experience with File Cloud

  • Experience with GoAnywhere

  • Experience working with data elements, data definitions/dictionaries, user documentation, and data collection preferred.

  • Experience with project coordination preferred.
