Central Career Services Support Group
Where faith, hope and resumes come together

The loss of a job can be very traumatic.  Along with the loss of income, there is the potential for many emotional problems that go along with it: loss of self-esteem, anxiety, frustration, fear, and depression.

God’s Word is the foundation of all discussions in this support group, where members will find truths leading to encouragement and hope. This group does not replace the traditional job search steps, but will provide a safe place to navigate emotional struggles and provide reason for hope. Email cheri.clark@centralcommunity.church for more information.

Perhaps you’re thinking, “Now is not the best time to go after God. I need to settle down into a job and bring in some money, and then I’ll have the time to seek Him.” Be honest — did you take the time when you had your last job? There are no good or bad times to go after God. There is simply this statement — that Hezekiah brought everything he had to offer as he went after God and he became very successful. Notice that he wasn’t going after the things of God, he just wanted God. How many of us have that as our purpose in times of challenge and crisis? You may have just discovered a key to success!

WORDS OF LIFE:

  • I seek God with my whole heart, too; not for what He can do for me, I just want to know Him.
  • By faith I receive a deep and personal relationship with God.
  • All my needs will be met. I succeed as I serve and obey God.

Word of the Day

In all that he did in the service of the Temple of God and in his efforts to follow God’s laws and commands, Hezekiah sought his God wholeheartedly. As a result, he was very successful.(NLT)
